Michelle Smith

Michelle R. Smith was born, raised and currently resides in Springfield, Illinois. She began drawing at the age of thirteen. Michelle has been drawing portraits for at least a dozen years, and often times as a method of relaxation from life's various stresses. It is often said that Michelle's pieces reflect her very self.

Michelle has hosted two private art showings, in 1993 and 1994, and her artwork has been displayed over the years at Lincoln Library, Springfield, IL, the Concert of Love, Joy and Peace, Springfield, IL, 1999, The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc sponsored Pre-Kwanzaa Celebrations, 1996, 1997 and 1998, Springfield, IL, SIU School of Medicine Celebration of Black History, 1999, Springfield, IL, the Springfield, IL FBI office's Celebration of Black History, 1999, the Illinois State Library Celebration of Black History, 2000, Springfield, IL and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc 1st Annual UMOJA competitive step show, Olympia Fields, IL, 2000.
